Survivalcraft app for Android is a terrific game developed by Candy Rufus games that borrows heavily from Minecraft in all aspects of game mechanics and design. Fortunately, it is widely accepted that Survivalcraft is a rehashed version that does most things that Minecraft cannot do. Since its inception in 2012, Survivalcraft has garnered a lot of popularity on the Android app store and has received thousands of five star ratings. This app has a solid community aspect that allows users to create and upload individual maps and texture packs for other players to take. Overall game play is is smooth, creation of new elements and grabbing other players elements is not much of a hassle.

How tough are you ?

The game begins with the player marooned and left to fend for yourself on an island with an unforgiving environment which puts you in mortal danger from the beginning. You can build yourself a shelter with the main objective being keeping yourself out of danger. Players can get mauled by bears and voracious wolves which make the game play really tense with a few spaced out relaxed moments. There also is the ability to ride animals like horses, the visuals are excellent and are worth mentioning.

Game play

The game has a menu system with four options;
Single player - this allows you to start the game after selecting or creating a world.

Get content - Here, you can find user created content like textures and world files right on your device.
Settings - this allows you to edit game settings such as audio settings, user interface settings and performance settings.

Help - This provides the player with the tutorials for understanding the game's mechanics, including the Recipaedia which contains information on every available block and its creation steps.
The game has the following difficulty modes;

1. Creative - Here, players experience a fast paced game play with a never ending supply of blocks. Items can be mined relatively fast. The play has the ability to fly and is immortal. This mode has options which lets you alter the environment, day and time, weather effects and terrain generator.

2. Harmless - This mode removes almost all of the danger from the game. Animals do not attack unless provoked. Less damage is taken and health regenerates much faster, mining is also much faster.

3. Challenging - This is the normal game mode. Animal attacks, damage and health regeneration are average. In case the player dies, re-spawning occurs at the last place of rest.

4. Cruel - Here, game play is similar to the challenging mode. However, players only have one shot at life and do not re-spawn upon death. At death, the players world is lost and game play has to begin all over again. Players cannot revert worlds created in other modes to this mode.
