SwiftKey apps for android reviews
Touchscreen keyboards on Android devices tend to be ubiquitous, no developer has mustered enough guts to make using glass as a keyboard an enjoyable experience. However, The SwiftKey apps for Android try to pleasure your typing experience. This application takes full advantage of Android being open source to replace your device's current keyboard with a better one designed for the thumb and also cleverly predicts your next word. This application does not really replace the speed on lengthy documents and accuracy of conventional keyboards. Its flow input feature makes composing quick text messages a walk in the park. The application's smart suggestions also improve as you continue using it.
Swiftkey is multilingual as it supports over sixty languages, not limited to those that use non conventional character sets like Arabic. It allows you to choose three languages at a time and enables toggling between the various keyboards by holding down the space-bar key. This has surely made life easier for multilingual users globally. Flow has been designed to rival swype typing in which you drag your thumb over keys to compose words, rather than tapping them out. Flow feels much more natural than Swype. Moving your thumb over the keys produces different suggestions above the keyboard. Releasing your finger automatically selects the suggestion. Hovering your thumb over a key adds a double letter while swirling in the middle cancels it.
The disadvantage of this application is that composing long words and sentences can get quite difficult and requires advanced knowledge of touch typing. Seeing beneath the thumb to look at the letters you are typing is also a bit awkward. The application studies your habits and uses the information to deduce the words you are likely to type based on context. The suggestions are found three spaces above the keyboard. In the middle is what it believes you will most probably use, the words at the sides are the second and third words you are likely to use. Its predictions are cleverly accurate, basically, you only need to train yourself to look at the suggestions, select one and complete your word.
Swiftkey practically changes your typing habits, if you have a frequently used phrase such as 'Talk to you later', these four words are most likely to appear one after the other in the application's predictions. This saves users the time they could have taken in typing all those characters. When beginning to use Swiftkey, it uses its default database which it applies in its suggestions. Frequent use enables it to learn your typing habits.
This application has a detailed user manual and throws in random reminders when appropriate. With its intuitive design and several options, Swiftkey is undeniably the best Android keyboard out there.
